11/01: Carolina & Stephen 10.24.09
Holy behind-on-blogging, Batman! I always get mad at all of my vendor friends when they get behind on blogging because, if they do, what are blog-stalkers like myself supposed to do to keep themselves entertained?!? Now I've done the exact thing I get upset about. There's nothing like the excitement of typing in the web address of one of your favorite blogs...the anticipation of waiting for it to load...and then seeing the same posting you've seen a dozen times before. What a disappointment. The more I write about this, the more I'm realizing I have a problem. I think I need to see someone about this.
Enough about my blog-reading addiction. I need to get more addicted to actually blogging. It's not that I don't want to blog more often - it's just that it often gets lost in the shuffle...especially in the month of October. We had 4 weddings in 5 weekends which usually wouldn't be bad (and I know a lot of vendors that have it worse) - but adding it to launching Behind Every Bride and it makes for a hectic couple of weeks.
Last weekend (the 24th), we had the pleasure of coordinating Carolina & Stephen's wedding day. It. was. beautiful. Not just in the overall design (which was gorgeous) but the emotion of the day was beautiful. There is no better way to put it. From start to finish - this was absolutely the most relaxed, carefree wedding I've ever been a part of - which is a wonderful reflection of Stephen and Carolina's personalities. While every detail was flawless - the day was all about the love between Stephen and Carolina and all of their friends and family.
We were at one of my favorite venues - The Cornerstone. (Perhaps I'm biased because my own wedding reception was there!) The venue is already magnificent - but add in the wonderful elements that we did for this wedding and it becomes spectacular! The overall design was "organic and natural." From the willow branches that lined the aisle to the succulents they gave as favors to the dried hydrangea bouquets and baby succulent boutennieres - it was just stunning. I absolutely LOVED Carolina and Stephen and their families. Carolina's dad is the first dad to make me cry -in a good way. He came in as we were flipping the room from the ceremony to the reception (which we did in less than 40 minutes!) and told me everything had been "PERFECT" and gave me a heartfelt hug. It doesn't get much better than that. He said he was so proud of that day and his only daughter - and you could tell by the look in his eyes that he was just truly overwhelmed with it all. It was so touching. That's one of the many reasons I do what I do - I get to be, for that day, an extended member of the family.
I could seriously write pages about how I loved every minute of October 24th. I could say that I LOVED that Stephen and Carolina wanted their families to be a major part of the ceremony so, in addition to their wedding party, their brothers/sisters/in-laws and parents all stood up at the altar with them. I could say that Stephen gave a touching toast and said that each day with Carolina gets "better and better." I could tell you that we turned the not-so-pretty solarium into an "art gallery" with black and white pictures of the couple suspended from pipe and drape with beautiful lighting to create the gallery effect. I could tell you the guests gasped when they enterted that room. I could also tell you that I happened to know a few of the bridesmaids and I loved every minute of getting to see them support Stephen and Carolina. I could also tell you that I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED getting to work with Deidre of Deidre Lynn Photography and that I got to meet her fabulous husband, Brandon. But if I told you all of that - my blog would go on for days! :)
So, I'll stop with the words and share some images. I'll share more this week because these don't even scratch the surface of this day.
Photography - Deidre Lynn Photography (we had so much fun - perhaps too much!)
Lighting - Sound & Light Creations (the lighting COMPLETELY transformed the space, as always)
DJ - Diamond Dan
Catering - Echo Valley Meats
Venue - Cornerstone Building
Linens - I Do Events (loved the double sash!)
Interactive Guest Book - Memwas
Florist - the groom's mother - she did an AMAZING job!)
Let's start with a few of the beautiful bride (thanks, Amy!)

And one with her wonderful parents:

Okay – my internet is being irritating and I’m getting ready to punch my computer. In lieu of violence, I’m just going to stop uploading pics for tonight and I’ll post more this week.
More soon – sorry to leave you hanging. Silly internet!
